Whenever I hear the phrase, “Mic check!” I’m back in the fall of 2011.  I see a big crowd of people gathered around a speaker echoing their words.  The air is crisp. Autumn colored leaves are falling to the ground. And there is a feeling of solidarity as the people speak their demands.

I remember my enthusiasm in early October that we were on the cusp of significant change. Occupy was moving across the country and around the world with a message of empowerment and social transformation.

So what happened?
