Clear, calm and courageous
Compassionate and Effective Communication
Oct. 28, 9:30am to 4:30pm at Albany UU

Come learn and practice a peaceful means toward heathy relationships with Philomena Moriarty and Jan McCracken, both long-time members of Albany UU. In this workshop, we will introduce the principles and skills of nonviolent communication by learning to:

  • identify and express personal needs and intentions
  • identify and reflect the needs and intentions of others
  • develop clarity in communication
  • reduce reactivity in ourselves and others

Jan McCracken and Philomena Moriarty have been facilitating workshops and practice groups in Nonviolent Communication for several years. As a way to promote peaceful relationships, the practice was founded by Marshall Rosenberg in the 1960’s and is still used throughout the world. https://www.cnvc.org

Please register by October 22. Sign up in Channing Hall or send an email to registration@albanyuu.org, and include  your telephone number. Free will donations to cover the cost of materials and refreshments will be gladly received.

To maximize your experience in the workshop, and afterward, you might consider reading Marshal Rosenberg’s book, Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life.
