Refugee Voices – A Symposium
Monday, July 2, 7:00 PM, Community Hall
This program is a joint project of the Albany UU Social Responsibilities Council and Opera Saratoga. The panel will feature a diverse group of individuals who have relocated to the Capital Region from different countries, who are willing to share their experiences. The discussion will shed light on the difference between the experience of immigrants versus refugees, and will also explore both sides of the issues surrounding Sanctuary Cities.
Admission is free, however online registration is recommended – see link below.
The forum will be moderated by Seth Leech, a partner with Whiteman Osterman & Hanna, whose primary practice area is immigration law, including family-based immigration and asylum.
This discussion is one of a number of events presented in conjunction with Opera Saratoga’s new production of Menotti’s The Consul, an opera about the struggle for freedom against oppression, and the maddening nature of unrelenting bureaucracy.
