CROP Walk and Family Values

Our Albany UU community lives true family values by teaching our children compassion and empathy for those in need.  Family participation in activities like the CROP Hunger Walk is a great way to reinforce a message of caring.  CROP Walks raise dollars to support hunger relief programs, both locally and around the world.  On a more symbolic level “we walk because they walk” – in solidarity with those who must walk daily to feed and care for their families.

The Albany CROP Hunger Walk is coming up on Sunday, May 7.  It starts and ends at First Lutheran Church near Albany UU.  There’s a lunch in Channing Hall after the service, but before the Walk.  The regular Walk route is about 3 miles, but there’s a one-mile option, and the loop can always be shortened to accommodate the capabilities of your family.  We encourage all families to sign up for our CROP Walk team (Team UU).  See Dawn Dana at the coffee hour CROP Walk table, or call Dawn for more information (446-0382).  Go Team UU!
