Letting Go

March 26, 2019 |

Led by Rev. Sam Trumbore
Three Sessions March 26, April 2, 9
Instead of just giving something up for Lent, this class will provide an alternative by diving into the process of letting go itself. A companion book for this class will be Dr. David R. Hawkins, Letting Go: The Pathway to Surrender. Dr. Hawkins (who died in 2012) was a psychiatrist who did deep exploration into the nature of human suffering. His work connected with both Christianity and Buddhism and was guided by his own intense personal experience. This book is his magnum opus from which each session will be drawing inspiration. (Note that reading the material isn’t necessary to get benefit from this class nor is it a prerequisite for attending) The sessions will be focused as follows:
March 26:           Letting Go: Methods (Chapters introduction – 2)
               April 2:                 Letting Go: Stress and Emotions (Chapters 3 – 9, 14, 15)
April 9:                 Letting Go: Love, Peace and Relationships (Chapters 10 – 18)
