Metta or Loving-kindness Meditation led by Rev. Trumbore
Two sessions, October 1 and 8, 7:00 PM
Learn the basics of Buddhist heart-centered meditation that cultivates a non-specific love-for-all that becomes specific in caring for and serving others. Metta doesn’t require a response from others for its growth and development as it arises from an inner sense of abundance.
Cultivating a sense of goodwill toward all beings has many side benefits in our personal lives … and it doesn’t turn our rational faculties into mush. In fact, cultivating metta can greatly sharpen the mind as it assists us in staying with difficult situations that tempt us to run away. As the song goes, “there is more love somewhere; I’m going to keep on till I find it …” Practicing metta is one way to find it.
