Thrift 2 Fight is a 100% volunteer-run organization that sells donated secondhand clothes to raise money for grassroots activist organizations. Over the past year we have organized 15 pop-up thrift sales and raised and donated $19,825 to activist organizations both locally and across the country.
We received a grant from Davis Projects for Peace that will allow us to organize 10 pop-up thrift sales across New York this June to raise funds for activist organizations like yours – with 100% of the sale funds being donated to the community in which it was raised.
Here are the details about the Albany sale on Friday, June 4th:
The sale will take place from 11am-6pm, with an hour of set up and break down on either end. We will have 12-15 racks of clothing plus two tables – one for checkout, and the other with information about the amazing orgs we are collaborating with and raising funds for – All of Us, and In Our Own Voices.
Albany UUs can attend either as buyers or as volunteers! Those who are interested in volunteering at the sale can sign up here. The public is welcome to attend the sale!
Additional Information:
This is a pop-up ADULT clothing sale that Albany UU is hosting outside on the church grounds, Friday, June 4 from 11-6. They will have at least 12 racks of great, sorted adult clothes for sale and all proceeds will be given to All of Us and In Our Own Voices.
Masks and distancing will be enforced.
There will be two pop-up outdoor dressing rooms so folks can try things on.
Donations of clean ADULT clothing, in good condition will be gratefully accepted during the hours of the event. The guidelines for donations are here.
