Join the Walker Book Group on Sunday, January 10 at 6:30 pm. As long as the church building is closed, we will meet using Zoom instead of holding our usual potluck supper and discussion in Channing. Our Zoom meetings have resulted in lively discussions. Newcomers are always welcome.
At our January meeting, we will discuss The System: Who Rigged It, How We Fix It by Robert Reich. Reich, the former Secretary of Labor, argues that, in the past decades, power, both political and financial, has shifted dramatically to the very wealthy from the middle and working classes. This movement can only be stopped by the majority of Americans demanding fundamental reform.
In February, we will discuss Caste: The Origin of our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson. In March and April, we will discuss The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett and The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes, respectively.
