Walker Book Group

March 14, 2021 | 6:30 PM

Join the Walker Book Group on Sunday, March 14 at 6:30 pm. As long as the church building is closed, we will meet using Zoom instead of holding our usual potluck supper and discussion in Channing. Our Zoom meetings have resulted in lively discussions. Newcomers are always welcome.

The group has postponed its discussion of The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett until the April meeting.  The popularity of this book has resulted in delays in accessing this book from the library.  If you would like to join us for this discussion in April and plan to borrow the book from a library, please put your name on the waiting list now.

In March, we will discuss The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes, winner of the 2011 Man Booker prize. The narrator is a contented, middle-aged man who is forced by an unexpected legacy to rethink his adolescence and the paths his friends’ lives have taken.  Ultimately, he must reconsider his own values and his place in the world.
