November 13, 2022 | 5:30 PM
Join the Walker Book Group on Sunday, Nov 13 at 5:30 pm for our second in-person meeting since March 2020. If you are not comfortable attending in-person, join the book discussion via Zoom at 6:30. Everyone is welcome to participate.
The in-person meeting will begin with a potluck supper in Channing Hall at 5:30. Those not meeting in-person can join the book discussion via Zoom at 6:30.
At our November meeting, we will discuss The Agitators: Three Friends Who Fought for Abolition and Women’s Rights by Dorothy Wickenden. The New York Times reviewer concluded that entwining the asymmetrical lives of Harriet Tubman, Frances Seward and Martha Coffin Wright “as deftly as Dorothy Wickenden does…proves illuminating.”
We select books in advance to allow participants time to secure and read them. Selected books are available in the library. The group has selected three additional books for discussion. In December, we will discuss Oh William! by Elizabeth Strout; in January, French Braid by Anne Tyler; and in February, Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
