Music Director Position Vacancy

Our Music Director of sixteen years, Matt Edwards, left our employment at the end of September 2016, to consolidate his life in Bennington, Vermont where he has a new position as music director.  We assembled a Music Director Search Committee in September and assessed what kind of a Music Director we might want to replace him. A member of our congregation with conducting experience led our 30 member choir with the help of a former choir director/accompanist.  They finished their commitment at the end of December.

Our search process helped us identify an excellent music director who we had hoped would become our new director. Unfortunately, her husband has an appointment out of the area that begins this summer so she will not be able to continue past June. She agreed to an interim position to get us through till the end of our season in June. We have guest performers during the summer.

The search process is actively continuing with the goal of finding someone to start September 1. Candidates will be expected to audition with our choir and perform during a Sunday service. That process is happening right now.

TO APPLY: Please send us a cover letter, a resume, three references, and URL links to any performance work you might want to share with us that is on-line (mp3/YouTube/web pages/etc) to: musicdir@albanyuu.org
