Bringing children to a new place can feel exciting, and a little uncertain. We want to make your visit as easy and rewarding as possible, as children and youth are an important part of life at Albany UU.

Every Sunday, you’ll find opportunities for young people to explore big questions, build friendships, discover their own beliefs and values, and experience the joy of belonging in a caring community.

Every Sunday Looks a Little Different

Just as every family is different, every Sunday can be a little different, too.

Summer

Late July through Early September

Summer Craft & Play offers arts and crafts and free play, supervised by staff and volunteers. Infants and toddlers are welcome too, with a parent or other responsible adult along. Families with little ones can also worship together, or use our quiet family space to see and hear the service.

Church Year

Early September through Mid-June

During the church year, Sunday programming can vary from week to week.

  • Most Sundays – Children and youth attend service with their grownups until the story is told, then head to Community Hall to join their age-based groups.
  • Occasionally – Children and youth stay for the full service and experience multigenerational worship.
  • First Sunday of the month – Kids might attend Family Chapel in the Sanctuary.
  • Holiday weekends – There’s often a community service project in a combined-age group.

Nursery Care

Nursery care for infants and toddlers is available during the church year. Parents and guardians can choose to drop off, or stay with their little ones. Families can also worship together, or use the quiet family space.

Visiting for the First Time?

Before Your Visit

Reach out anytime. We would be happy to answer questions and help make your first Sunday feel comfortable and welcoming.

On the Day of Your Visit

During the church year a Programs for Children and Youth (PCY) welcome volunteer is usually at the front entrance to answer questions, explain what’s happening that day, and help you decide what will work best for your family.
