At Albany UU, music is a shared ministry that brings people together in creativity, connection, and joy. Through congregational and choral singing, instrumental music, and collaborative events, music helps deepen worship, strengthen relationships, and express the values at the heart of our community.
We welcome experienced musicians, occasional performers, and people returning to music after time away. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or simply love participating in shared music, there are many ways to become involved.
Music in Worship
Music plays an integral role in Sunday morning worship and special seasonal services throughout the year. Congregational singing, choir anthems, soloists, instrumentalists, and guest musicians help create meaningful and engaging worship experiences that reflect the spirit and diversity of our congregation.
Choir and Congregational Music
The Albany UU Choir welcomes singers of all experience levels. The choir performs regularly throughout the church year and rehearses weekly with the Director of Music Ministry.
Choir participation offers an opportunity to build friendships, deepen connection to worship, and experience the joy of creating music together in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Community Collaboration
Music Ministry at Albany UU extends beyond Sunday mornings. Our musicians and music leaders collaborate with local performers, community organizations, and regional arts groups throughout the Capital Region.
These partnerships reflect Albany UU’s commitment to inclusion, creativity, justice, and community connection, while creating opportunities for shared artistic experiences that reach beyond our walls.

Music for Children and Youth
Music plays an important role in Programs for Children and Youth, including Family Chapel, multigenerational worship, and Sunday morning programming. Children and youth participate through singing, movement, storytelling, and shared musical experiences that encourage creativity, confidence, and connection.
