Click here to Download the Order of Service – Seeking Environmental Justice in Albany
This is the annual Green Sanctuary Team Earth Day Service. This year we are focusing on the impacts of environmental problems in our own neighborhood and what can be done about them. We have invited Rev. Marc Johnson, Owusu Anane, and Susan Cotner to participate in the service. Rev. Johnson is from the St.John’s Church of God In Christ in Albany’s South End. He has been an environmental activist for many years. Mr. Anane is the Albany Common Council representative from the 10th Ward. He will discuss environmental justice issues in Albany. Susan Cotner is the executive director of the Affordable Housing Partnership (AHP). She will be discussing how Albany UU can assist the AHP in promoting a new $5 million dollar grant program for homeowners in our neighborhood to make repairs and improvements to their homes.
