It is time to start planning for our 2026 online auction! The auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Not only is the auction an essential fundraiser, it is an important way to build community. The social events, dinners, garden walks, hikes, etc., give Albany UU members a chance to socialize and get to know each other better. There are always a variety of interesting and affordable items available, so everyone can participate.  Start planning your donation now to make this the most successful online auction yet!

Here are some suggestions, but let your imagination be your guide. If your time or energy are limited make it easy by finding a partner. Remember that store-bought is fine.

  • Dinners for six, eight, or more. The meal can be a barbecue, vegetarian, a chance to try something from another country, Hungarian, Indian, etc., or whatever your specialty is.
  • Events for parents and children, such as swim parties, hikes, or games.
  • Home-made treats such as manicotti, baguettes, jams, or baked goodies.
  • Services such as estate planning, babysitting, pet sitting, yard work, or photography.
  • Hikes with a picnic in our beautiful surroundings.
  • A stay at your home in a resort or city setting.
  • Garden tours accompanied by lunch or wine and cheese.
  • Get togethers for games, playacting, or conversation, accompanied by desserts or other treats.
  • Gift certificates or tickets to a play or movie.

If you have a painting, antique, or other object that you would like to donate, please consider saving it for Silver Bay or the Bazaar.  Objects that need to be seen to be appreciated sell better at those in-person events.
