Stewardship Campaign Pledge 2026-2027

“What we practice at the small scale sets the pattern for the whole system.”
—adrienne maree brown
Adrienne Maree Brown reminds us that change begins with small, intentional acts of care. What we practice together—generosity, inclusion, resilience, justice—shapes who we are and what we offer the world.
As Stewardship season begins, we invite you to help shape that pattern through your annual pledge.
We enter this new year with gratitude. While our congregation is now debt-free, our responsibilities—and our opportunities—continue to expand.
We must fully support our growing community, prepare for an upcoming ministerial transition, and respond to urgent needs in our neighborhood and beyond. Our work depends not on a few, but on the shared commitment of all of us.
Across our wider community, people seek steady footing; civic life feels fragile; and inequities deepen. In this moment, Albany UU aims to be a model democratic community—one where participation matters, shared responsibility is practiced, and everyone has a role in sustaining what we love.
Too often we assume others will take care of the giving. But our congregation flourishes when each of us contributes according to our own ability. Your pledge supports our remarkable staff, sustains programs for all ages, maintains our historic home in the heart of Albany, and fuels our justice work.
To those newer to Albany UU: welcome. Making a generous pledge is a meaningful way to place your hand on the arc of our shared future.
To longtime members and friends: thank you. Your generosity has shaped this congregation across decades. We invite you to consider the giving guide and recommit—perhaps with an increase.
In a time when democracy feels fragile, may we remember that what we practice here—generosity, care, courage, and community—matters.
Your pledge helps shape and sustain Albany UU.
With gratitude,
